A scheme known as the PPTRS that allows Pest Control Technicians (PCT) with specified and approved levels of training to hold a special registration. This registration also shows directly that a PCT has achieved these standards in the form of an identity card complete with photograph, whilst on the reverse are shown certain other complimentary training awards such as in food hygiene. The card the size of a standard credit/debit card is electronically scanned holding the qualifications within a microchip.

Because of the obvious advantages shown the NPTA has formally backed the PPTRS from day one and been a part of the Advisory Committee setting the standards behind this unique individual Pest Technician scheme.

Launched at PEST TECH 1999 at our annual exhibition it has gone from strength to strength and a recent comment from DATAS Associates, who are administrating the scheme, says, "The success of the scheme is already having an impact upon training provision throughout the industry.
