"Today's Technician" is the official Journal/Magazine of the National Pest Technician's Association (NPTA), and is certainly regarded by many as the premier journal in the UK pest control marketplace. Published quarterly, its main aim is to improve communications within the public health pest control industry to the benefit of everyone involved.

19/02/2008 - Association Seeking Your Experiences

In an endeavour to increase the usefulness of Today's Technician, the editorial Board wish to invite pest control technicians at every level of their experience and career to send in your experiences that were something slightly out of the ordinary from your normal day to day work.

One example:-

What are your experiences of Illusory and Delusory Parasitosis (the old fashioned 'Cable Bug') and more importantly how you satisfied your customer. Remember doing just a treatment for the sake of not wanting to upset your customer is adding fat to their already strange beliefs.

Reminder, see pages 22 and 23 of the October 2007 issue of "Today's Technician".

A short article, no more than 150-200 words long is all we are asking for, along with if at all possible a bright, clear, in focus, colour photograph of the situation.

For any successful and published report you will be sent a most useful prize. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Worldwide Coverage

The Journal has a diverse and wide-ranging editorial policy with a readership well in excess of 2,500 people working in the pest control industry in the United Kingdom (UK) and overseas. The journal is read by technicians, supervisors and managers to Local Authorities, Private Pest Control Companies, Government Bodies, Pesticide Manufacturers and Distributors, as well as in many Food Companies. Copies also go to pest control technicians and interested parties in Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle and Far East and New Zealand.

The NPTA journal is firmly established as one of the main pest control publications available in the UK, and the content reflects this - articles range from serious in-depth examinations of issues such as application techniques, new legislation, pesticide research and Environmental matters to humorous items, competitions and events. New product information is also featured in every edition.

"Today's Technician" is financially supported by the pest control industry advertising within its pages and from time to time job vacancies in both local authorities and the private servicing businesses are also included. Loose A4 and A5 (both coloured and black and white) inserts provided by the Industry are also able to be included occasionally when the need for them fits in with publication dates. Publication dates are the first weeks of January, April, July and October each year.
