Northern Ireland Recognises Pest Management Professionals as Key Workers
We have today been informed that pest controllers are now classified as key workers by Department of Education in Northern Ireland and hopefully England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland will soon follow suit. We at the NPTA, along with the BPCA, Manufacturers and suppliers continue to lobby the various Governments to try and establish pest control as an essential service.
Obviously many of our members are self-employed and this is a worrying time for all, however, we are expecting an announcement today on Government support for the self-employed.
Despite the push from many areas to establish pest controllers as key workers, we cannot stress strongly enough that the safety of you and any staff employed is given paramount status and any job you decide to attend should be fully risk assessed on a case by case basis.
We will of course keep you updated with any further developments.
