Pheromones and Semiochemicals in Insect Pest Management
Pheromones and other semiochemicals have been around now for over 50 years and they have been introduced and exploited successfully in many market sectors such as agriculture, horticulture and forestry. Their use in Industrial pest management and public health has also been achieved to some extent although maybe not as much as in other market sectors. This talk will highlight where pheromones have been successfully employed in the built environment and public health, and details some of the more recent innovations that should allow for their greater use in the future.

Effective pest management, which can be challenging on farms, is an important component of ensuring food safety. Zoonoses and Public Health in Pest Control
Ana and Matthew discuss original PhD research on the role of rats and mice in the dissemination of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance. Ana is dedicated to advancing knowledge with a specific emphasis on working with rodent diseases and their implications for public health. The research aims to enhance disease understanding, ultimately contributing to improved health outcomes for both animals and humans.
