NPTA Becomes a Pest Minds Charter Signatory
The National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) is proud to announce that we have officially become a Pest Minds Charter Signatory, recognising our commitment to promoting mental health and wellbeing across the pest management industry.
Mental health is an issue that touches every corner of our profession. Pest professionals often work alone, face demanding situations, and operate under pressures that can sometimes go unseen by others. As an industry, we must ensure that looking after our people is given the same importance as looking after our businesses.
By becoming a Charter Signatory, the NPTA is formally demonstrating its commitment to supporting the principles of Pest Minds and helping to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing throughout our sector. The Charter represents an organisation’s commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing through the principles of the Pest Minds initiative.
We are also delighted to confirm that Pest Minds will be joining us at PestTech 2026.
Following the success of last year, we will once again be inviting visitors to enjoy our “Have a Coffee on Us” initiative. Sometimes, taking a few moments away from the exhibition floor to sit down, have a drink and talk with colleagues can make all the difference.
And that’s not all.
We are planning an exciting new addition to this year’s event. Without revealing too much just yet, visitors can expect something a little different, interactive and perhaps surprisingly therapeutic. More details will be announced in the coming months.
Kevin Lawrenson, CEO of the NPTA, said:
“I am incredibly proud that the NPTA has become an official Pest Minds Charter Signatory. Mental health affects every workplace and every individual differently, and as an industry we have a responsibility to ensure people know that support is available and conversations around wellbeing are encouraged.
Pest Minds is doing fantastic work in raising awareness and creating safe spaces for people to talk openly. Through our partnership and our presence at PestTech 2026, we hope to continue breaking down barriers, challenging stigma and reminding everyone in our industry that looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health.”
At the NPTA, we believe that a stronger industry starts with supporting the people within it, and we look forward to working alongside Pest Minds to continue raising awareness and championing mental wellbeing across our profession.
Get Involved
Mental health is everyone’s responsibility, and creating a supportive industry starts with each of us.
As an official Pest Minds Charter Signatory, the NPTA encourages all members to take a few moments to explore the fantastic resources available through Pest Minds and consider how they can support positive conversations around mental health within their own businesses and teams.
Whether it is checking in on a colleague, creating an environment where people feel comfortable talking, or simply making time for a conversation over a coffee, small actions can have a lasting impact.
If you are attending PestTech 2026, please take the opportunity to visit the Pest Minds team, have a coffee on us, and discover more about the work being done to support mental wellbeing across our profession.
Together, we can continue building an industry that not only delivers professional excellence but also genuinely looks after its people.
Because behind every pest controller, technician, manager and business owner is a person, and every person matters.
