As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we recognise the valuable skills, experience and professionalism that members of the Armed Forces bring to the workplace. We are committed to helping NPTA members recruit this talent and supporting veterans in building successful careers within the pest management industry.
Why Hire from the Armed Forces?
Armed Forces veterans and service leavers possess many of the qualities that make excellent pest management professionals, including:

- A commitment to continuous learning
Whether you recruit through the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Jobcentre Plus, a recruitment agency, direct application or any other route, the NPTA is here to support both you and your new employee.

Recruitment Support Available
There are a number of organisations that can help you recruit Armed Forces veterans and service leavers. Whether you choose to use one of these services or recruit through your own channels, the NPTA support offer remains available.
Recruiting Through the Career Transition Partnership (CTP)
The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is the Ministry of Defence’s official provider of resettlement services for Armed Forces personnel leaving military service.
The CTP helps employers connect with experienced service leavers and can provide advice on recruitment, job advertising and understanding the transferable skills candidates bring from military service.
Find out more and register as a CTP employer.
Recruiting Through DWP
DWP can also help NPTA members recruit service leavers into pest management by connecting employers with Jobcentre Plus support and the Armed Forces Champion network.
Armed Forces Champions operate in every region of England, Scotland and Wales and work with local employers, partners and Jobcentre Plus colleagues to maximise employment opportunities for service leavers, veterans and those within their resettlement period.
This gives members a practical route to share vacancies, discuss local recruitment needs and reach candidates who bring the discipline, adaptability and transferable skills developed through military service.
Please contact Employer Services to be connected with an Armed Forces Champion in your area.
