NPTA welcomed as TrustMark Scheme Provider

The National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) has been approved as a TrustMark Scheme Provider, marking an important milestone for the pest management profession and for NPTA members.

TrustMark is the UK’s only Government-endorsed quality scheme for work carried out in and around the home, and works with approved Scheme Providers to help raise standards, improve consumer protection and build confidence across the repair, maintenance and improvement (RMI) sector. With the addition of the NPTA, TrustMark now works with 43 Scheme Providers.

Pest control continues to be one of the most frequently requested home services in the UK, with issues such as rodents, insects and wasps driving demand year-round. As a result, homeowners are increasingly looking for reassurance that they are using competent, qualified and trustworthy professionals.

Through this new partnership, eligible NPTA members will be able to apply for TrustMark registration, provided they meet the required standards of technical ability, trading practices, and customer service. Registration allows members to demonstrate their commitment to professionalism, quality workmanship and high standards across the pest control industry.

For NPTA members, becoming part of TrustMark represents an opportunity to stand out in a competitive market, strengthen credibility with customers, and help position pest management as a trusted, professional service.

Who is TrustMark?

TrustMark is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which means we focus on our customers – tradespeople and homeowners – and constantly reinvest back into the scheme. The scheme is licensed and endorsed by the Government’s Department of Business and Trade and operates under a Master Licence Agreement, which sets out what we do and how we do it.

Since 2005, TrustMark has been raising standards across the home improvement sector and our Registered Businesses commit to and maintain the required standards of technical ability, trading practices, and customer service. Working with around 18,000 Registered Businesses, TrustMark spans over 123 service types, from pest controllers, electricians and plumbers to builders, carpet cleaners and many more.

TrustMark represents more than a logo. By requiring businesses to demonstrate ongoing competence, TrustMark elevates quality and professionalism across the sector. Customers gain confidence knowing they are working with a Registered Business who meets government-endorsed standards, while businesses strengthen their credibility in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Improving standards and protection

Quality is an ongoing commitment. TrustMark reinvests continuously into improving standards and consumer protections. This ensures that registered businesses and their customers benefit from an evolving framework dedicated to quality.

Equally important are the protections that quality standards provide for businesses themselves. By being part of TrustMark, businesses have access to support, training and an independent Ombudsman to help resolve difficult complaints.

In addition, partnerships with leading organisations, such as Wickes TradePro, Europcar and the AA provide TrustMark members with practical benefits, from discounted tools and training to essential business services. These collaborations not only add tangible value but also reflect the importance of connecting quality businesses with the resources they need to succeed.

Connecting the industry for the future

For NPTA and its members, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to connecting the pest management industry for the future. When competence, skills and quality come together, they help build a stronger, more confident profession that consumers can trust. By working together towards common goals, the NPTA and TrustMark are helping to shape a more professional, resilient and trusted pest control industry.
