Job Description

We are looking for a Pest Control Technician to join our service team based in the North east England area, who will be responsible for carrying out pest control inspection and treatments in commercial, domestic and public premises.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- RSPH l2 award in Pest management or similar.
- Core Pest Control & Service Delivery.
- Carry out routine inspections across a varied commercial and public portfolio (including hospitality, healthcare, corporate offices, and local authority properties).
- Respond promptly to emergency call-outs, deliver effective pest control treatments, and conduct follow-up visits for ongoing cases.
- Perform specialist treatments, including Electronic Fly Killer (EFK) servicing, minor proofing to restrict pest entry, and cleaning/proofing support for the Bird Control team.
- Safely conduct bird management operations (pigeon control using a .22 air rifle) in compliance with industry standards.
- Client Relations & Business Growth
- Produce clear, detailed treatment reports following every site visit—advising clients on completed works and proactive prevention measures.
- Spot potential new business opportunities on site, pass leads to the sales team, and earn commission on successful conversions.
- Operations & Professional Standards
- Manage your daily itinerary efficiently to ensure all scheduled appointments and emergency requests are met on time.
- Maintain accurate timesheets, contract records, and vehicle stock levels.
- Complete risk assessments prior to tasks and strictly follow safety and operational procedures.
- Support neighbouring regional teams when required (may occasionally include fully funded overnight stays).
- Participate in the weekend emergency call-out rota (currently just 6 weekends per year).
- Commit to ongoing personal development by studying for and passing internal and external pest control accreditations.
Required Skills/Qualities
- Hold a full driving license with the ability to read and follow a map (we cannot consider applicants without a full licence)
- The ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
- A comprehensive grasp on the English Language both written and spoken
- An Analytical outlook with problem solving abilities
- A meticulous eye for detail with pride taken in completed work
- The Ability to work to set procedures and follow instructions
- Enthusiastic, positive, personable with a desire to learn and excel in the position
- Must be confident working at height in confined spaces
- Previous experience would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given
