Halfway Through 2026, Building a Stronger Association Together
A message from Kevin Lawrenson, Chief Executive Officer
As we reach the halfway point of 2026, I wanted to take the opportunity to reflect on what has been an incredibly positive period for the National Pest Technicians Association.
When we entered the 2025/26 membership year, we set ourselves a clear objective: to build a stronger Association that delivers greater value for every member, strengthens our influence across the industry and invests in the long-term future of professional pest management.
Looking back over the past 15 months, I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.
None of this would have been possible without the continued support, engagement and trust of our members, Board of Directors, partners and the wider industry. Every new member, every training delegate, every exhibitor and every supporter has played a part in helping us build an Association that continues to go from strength to strength.
By the Numbers
10% Membership Growth
Membership has increased from 1,032 companies at the start of the 2025/26 membership year to 1,135 members today.
This continued growth demonstrates the confidence that businesses across the UK continue to place in the NPTA and strengthens our ability to represent the interests of the professional pest management industry.
We’re also delighted to have welcomed major organisations including City Facilities Management and Nurture Group into membership, alongside many independent pest control businesses from across the country.
Meaning Growth in Membership Income
As membership has continued to grow, so has our ability to invest back into the Association.
Rather than simply maintaining the status quo, we’ve continued to reinvest into new member services, technology, technical support, training and representation, ensuring your membership subscription delivers greater value year after year. Membership income exceeded budget expectations during the year, supporting this continued investment.
Over 30 Exclusive Member Benefits
We’ve continued expanding the range of benefits available to members, providing practical support across:
- Health & Safety, Business support, Insurance, Compliance, Legal services, Wellbeing, Fuel savings, Training and Professional development
Our ambition remains simple, to ensure that the value members receive significantly exceeds the cost of membership.
Investing for the Future
The Association has continued investing in technology, digital services, member support, careers, technical guidance and industry representation, ensuring we’re building an organisation that’s fit for the future.
Investing in Our Members

The past year has seen one of the largest programmes of investment the Association has undertaken.
Highlights include:
- Introduction of the WRM Health & Safety Management System.
- Introduction of TrustMark and development Accredited Membership.
- Expansion to more than 30 exclusive member benefits.
- Increased technical support from our Technical Team.
- More training courses and Continuing Professional Development opportunities.
- Greater engagement with Government, regulators and industry stakeholders.
- Enhanced communications through newsletters, webinars and technical updates.
- Continued development of new member services and support.
Every investment has been made with one purpose, to help our members build stronger, safer and more successful businesses.
Investing in Our Digital Future

One of our biggest investments over the past year has been the complete redevelopment of the NPTA website.
This wasn’t simply about refreshing its appearance. It was about creating a modern digital platform capable of supporting members for many years to come.
Throughout the year we’ve continued to enhance the website by introducing new content, improving member resources, expanding training information and continually developing our Find a Pest Controller service.
We’re now beginning to see that investment pay dividends.
Website traffic continues to increase, engagement is growing and our Find a Pest Controller directory is attracting more visitors than ever before, helping to raise the visibility of member businesses across the UK. What’s more important is that the content we’re producing is encouraging more people to visit the NPTA website as a trusted source of information.
Whilst there is still much more to come, these early signs demonstrate that investing in our digital future is already beginning to deliver real benefits for members.
Alongside the website, we’ve also invested significantly behind the scenes by introducing a new CRM system integrated with Xero. Whilst much of this work is invisible to members, it enables us to automate many of our processes, improve efficiency and continue growing the Association without proportionally increasing administration costs.
These investments help future-proof the NPTA and ensure we remain financially sustainable whilst continuing to improve the services we provide.
Supporting the Next Generation

One area I’m particularly proud of is the work we’re undertaking to secure the future of our profession.
Working alongside the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), we’re continuing to support the development of the Pest Control Careers Hub, helping to raise awareness of careers within professional pest management and showcase the diverse opportunities available across our industry.
Attracting talented people into pest management is one of the biggest challenges facing our sector, and we’re committed to playing a leading role in addressing it.
This work sits alongside our 5<25 initiative, which continues to support and develop the next generation of pest professionals by providing funded training and career opportunities for young people employed within NPTA member businesses.
Together, these initiatives represent a long-term investment in the future workforce of our industry.
Strengthening Our Industry Voice
Over the past year we’ve continued to strengthen our relationships with Government departments, regulators and key industry stakeholders.
Whether contributing to working groups, supporting industry initiatives or championing professionalism, training and high standards, our objective remains unchanged:
To ensure the professional pest management industry receives the recognition it deserves.
As our membership continues to grow, so too does the strength of our collective voice.
PestTech Continues to Go From Strength to Strength

Following another fantastic PestTech in 2025, planning for PestTech 2026 is already well underway.
The response from exhibitors has been extremely encouraging, with bookings continuing to come in and excitement already building.
This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with new interactive experiences, expanded networking opportunities and even more opportunities for delegates to discover the latest products, services and innovations from across the industry.
PestTech has become much more than an exhibition—it has become the annual event that brings our entire industry together, and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more visitors this November.
Looking Ahead
Whilst it’s important to celebrate what we’ve achieved, we’re even more excited about what’s still to come.
During the remainder of 2026 we’ll continue to focus on:
- Growing our membership.
- Expanding member benefits.
- Continuing to invest in our website and digital services.
- Developing the Find a Pest Controller platform.
- Delivering more technical training and CPD.
- Supporting the next generation through the RSPH Careers Hub and 5<25.
- Increasing our representation across Government and industry.
- Delivering our biggest and best PestTech yet.
- And no doubt deliver a few other surprises along the way
Our ambition is simple: to ensure every member receives outstanding value whilst continuing to build an Association that leads, supports and represents the professional pest management industry.
Thank You
Finally, I’d like to say a sincere thank you to every member for your continued support.
Everything we’ve achieved over the past 15 months has been guided by one simple principle: creating more value for our members today whilst building a stronger, more professional and more sustainable pest management industry for tomorrow.
Many of you will be aware that membership fees increased more than usual this year. We recognise that no increase is ever welcomed, and we didn’t take that decision lightly. However, the additional investment has enabled us to strengthen the Association, enhance member services and, importantly, invest in the technology and infrastructure needed to support our continued growth.
By investing now in areas such as our CRM system, website and digital services, we’ve laid the foundations for a more efficient organisation that can continue to grow without the need for administration costs to increase at the same pace. Our aim is simple: to help minimise the need for more significant fee increases in the future whilst continuing to improve the value and support every member receives.
Whether that’s through our partnership with the Royal Society for Public Health, continued investment in our website and digital services, enhanced technical support, expanded member benefits, or developing future talent through initiatives such as 5<25, every decision has been made with the long-term success of our members and our industry in mind.
The progress we’ve made together has given us tremendous momentum, and I genuinely believe the second half of 2026 will be even more exciting. With continued investment, growing membership and an ambitious programme of activity still to come, we’re well positioned to continue building an Association that every member can be proud to be part of.
Thank you once again for your continued confidence in the NPTA. We look forward to continuing this journey together.
