NPTA Celebrates Two More “5<25” Candidates Passing the RSPH Level 2 Qualification
The National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) is pleased to announce that two more candidates from the 5<25 initiative have successfully passed the RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management, continuing the programme’s strong start in supporting the next generation of pest control professionals.
Lewys McCarthy and Rhys Brooke both achieved a pass in the qualification, awarded on 25th March 2026, demonstrating their commitment to developing professional knowledge and skills within the industry.
The 5<25 initiative is designed to encourage more individuals to enter the pest control profession by providing accessible training opportunities and a structured pathway into the industry. By reducing barriers to entry and supporting career development at an early stage, the NPTA aims to help address the ongoing need for skilled technicians across the UK.
The RSPH Level 2 Award is widely recognised as the foundation qualification for pest control professionals, covering essential knowledge in pest identification, control methods, legislation, public health considerations, and safe working practices. Achieving this qualification marks an important milestone for those beginning their careers in pest management.
Kevin Lawrenson, CEO of the NPTA, commented:
The NPTA continues to work with training providers and industry partners to ensure high-quality learning opportunities are available to those entering the profession. The association is committed to raising standards across the sector while promoting pest control as a skilled and rewarding career choice.
Further candidates are currently progressing through the 5<25 programme, with additional results expected in the coming months.
Richard Moseley, Syngenta, commented:
‘Syngenta are proud partners of the 5<25 Professional Futures scheme, and we are delighted that to see Rhys and Lewis have passed their level 2 Qualification with the support of NPTA and Syngenta – congratulations for the Syngenta team. Success stories like these for our young candidates, and the organisations that they work for, show the true value of the scheme and how it is supporting the development of the next generation of pest professionals’
