Salary: £27,000 – £31,000 (dependant on experience)

Job overview

Due to growth in our business, we are seeking a reliable, dedicated and customer focused Pest Control Technician to join our professional team covering Leicester and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, identifying and treating pest infestations in residential and commercial properties to resolve any issues safely and efficiently.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within the Pest management industry, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients through effective Pest Control solutions. This is an opportunity to work in a varied and interesting role, solving a wide range of real problems for private individuals and businesses.

 

Key responsibilities

• You’ll need to be able to work independently and will be responsible for carrying out environmental surveys, risk assessments and investigation of pests including looking for signs of entry points and hygiene risks.
• You’ll also be responsible for outlining and carrying out safe and effective Pest Control treatments using approved industry methods, installing preventative equipment and offering basic proofing and hygiene advice to customers.
• You’ll be expected to complete a digital service report for each visit.
• You’ll maintain your booking schedules and communication with customers.
• Your key activities will include rodent treatment programmes, treatment of bed bugs, wasps, ants, insect spraying for fleas, moths, flies and more.
• You’ll also carry out repairs and do proofing work including solar panel proofing.

Required Qualifications/Experience

• Full UK driving license held for at least 2 years
• RSPH / BPCA Level 2 award in Pest Management (or equivalent) is essential for the qualified position going forwards. If you don’t already have the qualification, but you do have hands on experience then we will provide you with all the training
• At least 1 year experience working in Pest Control
• GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade 4 / C or above is preferred

 

Other Requirements

• You must be comfortable working at heights
• You must be comfortable with some manual labour as we regularly dig out and repair drainage to proof against future infestations
• You’ll need to have excellent communication both face to face and in writing, and be motivated to build strong relationships with customers
• You must be reliable and committed to providing exceptional customer service on every visit. It’s important that you pay great attention to detail and safety, that you are motivated to learn, and able to work reliably and independently
