Meet the Latest 5<25 Candidates
as Applications Reopen for the Next Cohort
The future of the pest control industry depends on attracting, developing and retaining talented young professionals. Through the continued partnership between the NPTA and Syngenta, the 5<25 Professional Futures Programme is helping to do exactly that by supporting young people under the age of 25 as they build successful careers within the sector.
The programme provides successful candidates with a fully funded RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management, alongside mentoring, professional development opportunities and support designed to help them develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to progress within the industry. Since its launch, the initiative has already helped numerous young professionals take important steps forward in their careers while encouraging employers to invest in the next generation of pest controllers.
As applications reopen for the next cohort, we are delighted to introduce the latest five individuals who have joined the 5<25 programme.
Harry – Acute
Harry has long been fascinated by the role pest control plays behind the scenes in protecting businesses, food production and public health. After completing work experience with Acute, he quickly realised the profession offered everything he was looking for in a career. With a keen interest in both agricultural and industrial pest control, Harry is looking forward to expanding his knowledge and developing his skills through the programme.
Levi Wood – PestFree Pest Control
Levi joined the pest control industry seeking a career that offers variety, challenge and opportunities to learn. Having already gained valuable experience within PestFree Pest Control, he enjoys the fact that no two days are ever the same. The 5<25 programme will help support his ambition to continue developing professionally and build a long-term future within the industry.
Holly – Ratatak
After being introduced to pest control through her previous work within the agricultural sector, Holly discovered a profession that perfectly combines practical problem-solving with supporting farming and rural businesses. She is excited about the opportunities the programme provides and is keen to continue building her confidence, technical knowledge and professional skills.
Riley – MSB Pest Control
At just 17 years old, Riley is already gaining valuable experience working within his family’s business. Having completed training in the safe use of rodenticides and spent time learning from experienced technicians, he is eager to continue developing his skills and knowledge as he progresses through what promises to be a rewarding career in pest management.
Riley-Fox – Bromley Pest Control
As a third-generation pest controller, Riley-Fox represents the continuation of a family tradition within the industry. Although still early in his career, he has already developed a strong appreciation for the profession and is looking forward to broadening his technical understanding and industry knowledge through the 5<25 initiative.
Applications Now Open
Following the continued success of the programme, applications are now open once again for the next intake of the NPTA Syngenta 5<25 Professional Futures Programme.
The scheme is open to individuals under the age of 25 who are employed by, or members of, an NPTA registered business. Successful candidates will receive a fully funded RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management, together with mentoring, guidance and support aimed at helping them build a successful and sustainable career within the pest control industry.
Over the past few years, the programme has demonstrated how targeted investment in young professionals can strengthen businesses, raise standards and help secure the future of the sector. Many previous participants have gone on to achieve recognised qualifications, develop new skills and grow in confidence as pest control professionals.
