Job Description
Pest Ex provide specialist pest management services to residential and commercial clients across the whole of the North East region. Due to our ongoing growth and expansion within both of these markets, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pest Control Technician to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.
You will be part of a fun, hard-working team, helping to deliver on our target of becoming the North East’s first choice for pest control by providing a first-class service that is unrivalled in quality. Your duties will include visiting client sites to undertake surveys, pest management visits and proofing works, following best practice in pest control and procedures for safe working, providing advice and guidance to clients, and upselling our products and services.
This is a customer-facing role and you will be visiting a variety of sites; therefore, customer service and problem-solving skills are essential. You must be approachable and adaptable, as no two days are the same. As you will be required to work at height at times, as well as independently, a safety-conscious attitude is imperative.
Previous experience would be preferable; however, a candidate with the right attitude and work ethic will be provided with training, working alongside our lead technician.

Required Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum RSPH Level 2 Pest Management or equivalent
- Any of the following are desirable: BPCA Advanced Technician in Pest Management, Level 4 Biologist, CSCS, Asbestos Awareness, Ladder Safety, Manual Handling, COSHH, RSPH Level 2 Use of Aluminium Phosphides, etc.
Required Skills/Qualities
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills
- Friendly and positive attitude
- Able to climb ladders, bend, lift heavy equipment, crawl in tight spaces, etc.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable with travelling and working outdoors
- Willing to work overtime, including occasional out-of-hours callouts
Other Requirements
Full UK driving licence (preferably no points)
