Job Description
Essex and Suffolk Pest Solutions are a successful established family-run business based near Ipswich. Our company ethos is to provide quality pest control at competitive prices.
Due to our continued success and growth we are recruiting an additional Pest Control Technician to join our friendly team. We are looking for candidates based in Suffolk or North Essex area. This position is open to applicants who have experience as a Pest Control Technician or who are interested in starting a new career path.
This role would suit a well-organised person with plenty of common-sense who would relish a hands-on role. This could particularly suit a candidate with an agricultural/rural background.
Candidates will need to be fit and agile as some jobs can be physically demanding.
Full on the job training will be provided as necessary. This can lead to recognised Pest Control qualifications if not previously achieved.
What does a Pest Control Technician do?
Every day is different. Our Technicians have a variety of domestic and commercial customers that they look after, including ongoing service contracts as well as ad-hoc jobs dealing with rodents, insects, birds and many other pests.
As a Pest Control Technician you will need to inspect the customer’s premises and investigate any evidence of pest activity in order to determine the source of the problem. We can then put measures in place to resolve the current issue as well as help prevent future problems.
For Pest Control an inquisitive mind and good observation skills are great assets.
The ideal candidate will be of a practical nature, with experience of working with tools in order to carry out proofing works and the like.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Full valid UK driving licence.
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience of working with tools
- RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management (If applying for Qualified role) – If applying for Trainee Role you will be supported to obtain qualification.
Required Skills/Qualities
- Able to work unsupervised with a good level of self-management.
- Smart appearance, well-mannered and confident to deal with clients at all levels.
