Killgerm Waste Disposal Scheme:
Supporting Safe, Compliant Pest Control
Correct waste disposal is a fundamental part of professional pest control. From spent bait and contaminated packaging to empty aerosols and fluorescent tubes, pest controllers are required to manage waste in line with strict environmental legislation.
The Killgerm Subsidised Waste Disposal Scheme has been developed specifically to support pest control businesses with a clear, compliant and practical route for managing hazardous waste, helping businesses meet their legal obligations.
Designed for pest control professionals
The scheme is tailored to the realities of pest control work, covering the types of waste most commonly generated in the field. It supports members in meeting requirements under UK waste legislation, including duty of care obligations, hazardous waste movement, and correct documentation.
Killgerm operates a licensed waste transfer station, is registered as an upper tier waste carrier, and holds the relevant environmental permits. Waste is handled by qualified personnel, ensuring disposal is carried out safely and in accordance with the law.
Helping Pest Controllers stay compliant
The scheme supports pest controllers by:
- Providing a recognised and compliant disposal route for hazardous pest control waste
- Supporting compliance with the waste hierarchy
- Assisting with consignment notes and hazardous waste documentation
- Reducing uncertainty around what can and cannot be disposed of, and how
Clear guidance is provided on waste separation, storage and preparation prior to disposal, helping businesses avoid common compliance pitfalls and unnecessary delays.
Simple, structured and cost-effective
Membership of the scheme runs annually (January to December) and includes an allowance of 75kg, additional waste can be returned at a cost of £3 + VAT per Kg. For businesses unable to deliver waste directly to Ossett, Killgerm can also arrange licensed collection, quoted individually where required.
Killgerm has the appropriately trained staff that hold the necessary WAMITAB training required to manage a legally compliant waste transfer station and are up to date with the current requirements to be able to offer sound guidance.
