Showcasing the Real Face of Pest Control – NPTA Launches
Industry Photo Competition
The pest control industry is built on people.
Every day, technicians across the UK are solving problems, protecting public health, supporting businesses, and keeping homes safe. Yet too often, the images used to represent our profession are generic stock photos that fail to capture the reality of what pest control really looks like.
That is something the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) wants to change.
As part of a refresh of key sections of the NPTA website and the development of a new careers hub, the Association is launching a photo competition inviting pest controllers to submit real images of real technicians doing real work.
Real People. Real Work. Real Industry.
Rather than staged studio shots or artificial imagery, the NPTA is looking for natural, everyday photographs that show pest control as it actually happens.
Examples include:
-
Greeting a client at the door
-
Inspecting under a sink or in a cupboard
-
Carrying out a site survey with a clipboard or tablet
-
Fogging or spraying (with appropriate PPE)
-
Monitoring, proofing, or inspecting typical harbourage areas
Images of pests are also welcome, but the main focus is on technicians in action.
These images will help shape how the industry is presented to:
-
The public
-
Potential new recruits
-
Young people exploring career options
-
Career changers looking for a practical, skilled profession
In short, they will help tell the real story of pest control.
Why This Matters
The NPTA’s new careers hub aims to show that pest control is:
-
A skilled technical profession
-
A career with progression routes
-
A role that combines problem-solving, science, and practical work
-
An industry with long-term opportunities
Using genuine images from across the sector makes that message far more powerful than stock photography ever could.
It also gives technicians and businesses the chance to be part of how the profession is represented nationally.
How to Enter
Participants can submit their photos using either of the following methods:
-
Via NPTA Facebook Messenger
-
By emailing office@npta.org.uk
If selected as a winner, contributors will then be asked to provide the high-resolution version of their chosen image.
By submitting an image, entrants confirm they are happy for the NPTA to use the photograph across its website, careers hub, and related promotional materials.
