Pest Minds Launches “Pest Minds Connections”:
A New Anonymous Peer Support Service for the Pest Management Community
Pest Minds, the growing mental-health advocacy project dedicated to supporting individuals working in pest management and related industries, is proud to announce the launch of Pest Minds Connections — a safe, anonymous, and community-led peer support service.
Pest Minds Connections provides a space where individuals across the pest control sector can connect with volunteers for confidential, non-judgmental conversation and emotional support. The service is designed to bridge the gap between colleagues who understand the realities of the job and those who simply need someone to listen.
A Safe Space for Honest Conversation
Operating through a private, moderated structure, Pest Minds Connections offers one-to-one, anonymous conversations with volunteers ‘Pest Minds Connectors’ — everyday pest professionals who want to make a difference. A Pest Minds Connector allows those feeling isolated a person to talk to that understands pest management, from emotional support to idle chat.
“People in the pest management sector often work alone, face challenging environments, and operate under significant pressure,” said the founder of Pest Minds, Anna Mollins “Too many feel they have no one to talk to. Pest Minds Connections gives them a safe place to open up — without the fear of judgement, stigma, or professional consequences.”
How the Service Works
Users are connected with a peer volunteer aka a ‘Pest Minds Connector’, to contact through a private, anonymous channel.
Conversations remain completely confidential — Pest Minds does not monitor or read private messages.
Moderators only intervene if a conversation is flagged for safety concerns or guideline breaches.
The service is not a replacement for professional mental health support, but a stepping stone for those who simply need to talk.
A First for the Industry
Mental health initiatives within pest management are still rare, despite the emotional demands of the job. Pest Minds Connections represents a meaningful step forward in acknowledging and addressing the wellbeing of technicians, team leaders, sole traders, and everyone connected to the trade.
Free, Volunteer-Led, and Community Driven
Pest Minds currently operates without external funding and relies on volunteers who believe in supporting others within the industry. Volunteers undergo screening and guidance before being matched with users.
Pest Minds emphasises that while volunteers are compassionate peers, they are not clinicians, and the service remains firmly rooted in community support rather than therapy or crisis response.
A Call to the Industry
Pest Minds is calling for volunteers to become Pest Minds Connectors. To be able to support those who want a peer to talk to, we first need a pool of people ready to offer their help.

We are also asking Industry partners and organisations to share or promote the service, utilising their wide networks of pest professionals to get the word out as well as join in strengthening wellbeing across the industry.
