Recruiting from the Armed Forces

Support for NPTA Members Hiring Ex-Service Personnel

Why Hire from the Armed Forces?

Members of the Armed Forces bring with them a wealth of transferable skills that are highly valued in pest control discipline, reliability, leadership, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic.

By recruiting through the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), you can connect with highly capable individuals who are motivated to start a new chapter and who are looking for employers that recognise their value.

As an NPTA member, we’re here to support you at every step of the process.

Support for NPTA Members Who Hire Service Leavers and Ex-Military Personnel

We’re proud to offer a unique support package for NPTA members who employ service leavers and Ex-Military Personnel. If you recruit someone with ex-military experience into a pest control role via the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), you may be eligible for:

  • Funding 50% cost of RSPH Level 2 training
the NPTA will support their professional development by covering course and exam fees for the essential RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management.
  • Refunded employer National Insurance contributions
To help reduce the cost of early employment, the government will reimburse your employer National Insurance contributions for the recruit, helping to ease their onboarding into your business.
  • Advertising your role via the NPTA
We will post your vacancy on the NPTA’s Careers page, giving your opportunity added exposure within the industry and among service leavers exploring pest control careers.

CTP support you to shape the job

If you have registered to work with the CTP, advisers can assist in refining your job description and advert, helping you tailor the language to appeal to ex-Forces candidates and highlight that transferable skills are very welcome in the industry.
