Job Description
Fen Farm Pest Control is a family run, pest control company based in Lincolnshire. We take great pride in the high quality of pest control services that we deliver to our clients and value the members of our team. We are looking to recruit a motivated professional pest control technician, to deliver high quality, efficient and effective pest treatment services to agricultural, domestic, rural business & commercial clients.
The job consists in delivering a comprehensive service for the control of public health pests and nuisance pests in accordance with the company’s commercial duties and policies. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver an effective and appropriate service to all customers. They will be based in Lincolnshire and also service adjacent counties. There will be good prospects for them to progress within the company. Please note that the nature of the work may involve the technician carrying out work outside of normal working hours.
- To provide a reactive and proactive service for the control of public health and nuisance pests in accordance with Fen Farm’s policies, procedures and to meet performance targets.
- To maintain accurate records of visits including details of site conditions found, treatment that was provided, further control measures that are required and recommendations made to the client.
- To deliver a high quality, efficient and effective pest treatment service to agricultural, domestic and commercial clients.
- To organise and undertake a programme of treatments using pesticides to control pests.
- To carry out initial site surveys and quote accordingly.
- To develop and maintain pest control contracts in a wide range of premises.
- To maintain existing business and develop new opportunities with full support of the company.
- To organise their daily workload in an efficient manner and ensure that their vehicle is suitably stocked and that they carry out checks of their vehicle in accordance with internal procedures.
- To carry out any other “ad hoc” duties as required by the needs of the business.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- A recognised training qualification(s) in public health pest control. RSPH Level 2 – Required
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths – Preferable not essential
- GCSE or equivalent in Science – Preferable not essential
- Knowledge of pest control including treatments, proofing and housekeeping measures relevant to pest prevention strategies.
- Experience and an understanding of agricultural pest control work is preferable.
- Physical ability to work mainly outdoors and at times assisting in lifting heavy weights.
- Able to use the computer and/or other devices & the ability to produce clear written reports
Required Skills/Qualities
- Must have a flexible approach with clients, with a strong sense of customer care.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team, with minimum supervision.
- Good time management skills.
- Pleasant, respectful and confident manner in dealing with the members of the public at all levels, work colleagues and other contacts.
- Willing to undertake training as necessary to ensure that the competencies necessary to deliver the service are maintained.
- Able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.

- Hold a current full driving licence.
- Able to supply references.
